DeKalb County's Snapfinger Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant ribbon cutting
DeKalb County Government recently celebrated a significant milestone with the ribbon cutting for the Snapfinger Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant—the largest membrane facility of its kind in the U.S., expanding capacity from 36 MGD to 54 MGD.
CERM is proud to have played a vital role in this project over the past 11 years, providing construction management, surveying, environmental permitting, design support, and utility coordination services. This achievement showcases the power of collaboration in building resilient infrastructure and creating pathways for community growth.
We are grateful to DeKalb Watershed Management for their leadership and commitment to infrastructure improvements that directly benefit our communities. Beyond the technical accomplishments, this project has also served as a learning opportunity for future generations, with students from CERM’s Job Shadow Program visiting the site over the years to gain firsthand exposure to careers in engineering and construction. A new group of high school and college students returned to the site in April to see firsthand what it takes to commission a facility of this scale.
As we reflect on the impact of this project, we congratulate DeKalb County on this monumental achievement and remain committed to delivering technical excellence and fostering career pathways that uplift our communities.
