REMEDIATION AND CONTRACTING
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

Project Description

Ponce City Market restored more than 1.15+ million square feet of the historic Sears, Roebuck & Company building (also used as Atlanta City Hall East), creating a vibrant urban centerpiece that combines approximately 300,000 square feet of retail. As a subconsultant of this redevelopment project, CERM’s scope of work required removal of multiple amounts of various asbestos containing (ACM) building materials which included: pipe insulation, floor tiles and mastic, leveling compound, drywall, adhesive materials, caulking, grouts, roofing materials, etc. CRM also performed lead-based paint abatement and universal waste disposal/ recycling services.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation recognizes Ponce City Market as “History in the Marking” and part of a plan “to
move Atlanta forward while maintaining and emphasizing the city’s unique history and culture.”
