U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency names Corporate Environmental Risk Management (CERM) Minority Construction Firm of the Year
Atlanta, GA: U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) has honored Atlanta-based program management and engineering firm, CERM, with its highest level of national recognition for a minority-owned firm.
Corporate Environmental Risk Management (CERM) was awarded the Minority Construction Firm of the Year on August 6th, 2020. This award is presented to a minority-owned firm that has achieved outstanding success in private and public construction projects and has exhibited revenue and job growth over a sustained period.
Because of COVID-19, MBDA will honor award winners in a virtual “How I Did It” interview series during MED Week 2020, a week-long virtual event scheduled for September 13-19, 2020.
Only ten companies receive the national MBDA recognition in the areas of exports, manufacturing, health services, innovative technology, marketing, professional services, veteran-owned firms, and the Robert J. Brown Minority Enterprise of the Year, in addition to construction. On its website, MBDA noted that “minority communities and businesses have been particularly hurt and continue to face enormous challenges due to COVID-19. This year, in particular, MBDA would like to highlight businesses that have developed and implemented innovative solutions that promote business continuity and the ability to thrive through the challenges.”
The MBDA National Minority Enterprise Development Week Awards are the highest level of national recognition that a U.S. minority-owned firm can receive from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
