Atlanta Streetcar, Pre-construction & Construction Phase Survey Services

The Atlanta Streetcar provides a 2.6 mile loop that brings the streetcar back to the streets of Atlanta for the first time in six decades. CERM was retained by the designer of record for the project to provide surveying services in both the pre-construction and construction phases of the project.

During the pre-construction phase of the Atlanta Streetcar project, the project required verification of a previously prepared survey for design purposes. At points during the project this meant surveying basement of buildings adjacent to the street. Where track alignment was required, CERM prepared right-of-way acquisition plats and temporary construction exhibits.

CERM also provided the following construction-phase survey services:

• Laying out track alignment, sanitary sewer, water and storm drainage structures

• Conducting Independent checks on the contractors’ layout

• Collecting data for change orders

• Providing as-built data
